Milk – contains calcium which helps to ramp up the relaxation while tryptophan helps you fall asleep. The perfect sleep combo.
Bananas – the nutrient combo in bananas combined with the super Tryptophan helps to calm
Honey -used for years as a natural sleep aid, honey contributes to the release of melatonin
Flax seed – high amounts of tryptophan and omega-3 fatty acids increase levels of the sleep-regulating serotonin.
Almonds – a good source of magnesium, which promotes sleep and muscle relaxation.
To make your Bedtime Banana Smoothie you will need:
1 medium to large frozen banana, sliced
1 heaping spoonful of nut butter (eg almond)
2 tsp flax seed
125 ml milk of your choice
Drizzle of honey
How to make
Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy in your favourite glass and sleep well!
